I have heard EVERYONE perform these concertos. And while each pianist brought something unique to their interpretations, none of them can compare to these extraordinary and sublime performances by Angela Hewitt. She’s just on another level all her own. If anyone here loves Angela’s performances of Bach, I would strongly encourage you to listen to her interpretations of the Toccata in C minor and the Goldberg Variations. The latter she performs in Bach’s church in Leipzig, and it is a very emotional experience. ❤

The music stills my crazy anxiety. But something else. Please don't be offended. None intended. I love this photo! I am of the Charlie Brown generation. In my minds eye, I see Schroeder at his piano. The innocence of it is beautiful and soothing. Was this intentional? With much gratitude...

Couldn't they cut the extremely repetitive slow arias? It would make the cantatas much more enjoyable for modern audiences

Muchas gracias Miguel! Es un gran disfrute escuchar el violín interpretando una música que, como a Odette, me viene con el clave a la cabeza. Ya he leído la información que le has escrito a ella y conozoco la posibilidad de que la partitura original fuera para violín. Me imagino que con la amplitud enorme de nuestro amado J. S. Bach abrazaría las miles de posibilidades a las que pueden llegar sus composiciones. Te agradezco el que nos traigas esta interpretación de Kavakos con su violín. En algunos pasajes me suena muy cerquita de las sonatas para ese instrumento. Bellísimo. Un abrazo y hasta la próxima 🌹🎶🌹

Kavakos is good in Bach....crisp articulation, brisk tempos, and avoiding that cold mathematical precision of "sticking precisely to the score" which Bach himself would have scorned. Maybe I prefer Sato or Vilde Frang, but this is also very good Bach.

Absolutely stunning interpretation along with expert performances! This is fantastically musical, and it's a phenomenal listening experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I grew up with this partiture. I learned with a proffesor at the age of four to play the piano and when I turned 18 I learned to interpretate Das Wohltemperierte Klavier. Together with Die Kunst der Fuge and with Goldberg Variationen ---they are complex pieces and the best of The Master of the Modal Tonality.

Muchas gracias Miguel! Este clave bien temperado ha ido temperando mi alma desde muy pequeña. Escuchaba la interpretación de nuestro amado J.S. Bach de Wanda Landowska, en su disco de fondo verde claro y su perfil en blanco y negro. Durante muchos de los años de mi niñez fue mi disco preferido. Cada vez que comienza el preludio en do mayor me transporto a un sin fin de encuentros con sus notas y compases. En mi andadura con los pinceles hice mi primer cuadro de homenaje a Bach recorriendo esta música. Gracias infinitas por este Canal que cuidas, riegas, trabajas y compartes. Siempre es un gran placer! Un abrazo y hasta la próxima desde este anochecer cálido y quieto en mi nuevo lugar de habitat, un pequeño pueblo de la provincia de Sevilla! 🌹🎶🌹
